All Assam Open Prize Money Chess Tournament organized by Tinsukia Chess Academy will start from tomorrow at Doom Dooma Hoonlal H S School. 56 players including current Assam Champion Iftikar Alom Mazumdar and Former Assam Champion Soram Rahul Singh are vying for the top honours. Soram Rahul Singh with a 2051 rating given top seed in the tournament while Projit Phukan with a rating of 1829 given second seeding.
Mr. M Arun Singh is conducting the tournament as Chief Arbiter, while B P Lahan, Dipak Patgiri and Golap Gogoi are doing duty as deputy Arbiter. The tournament will conclude on 20th March. Rs 100,000 will be distributed as cash prize of the tournament and champion will get richer by Rs 15000.
