Cheniram Clinched Title

Cheniram Pegu clinched the title in All Assam Open Prizemoney Chess Tournament 2021 Doomdooma, held from 18^th to 20^th March,2021. Cheniram remains unbeaten throughout the tournament and scored 6.5 points from 7 rounds. Cheniram took sole lead by winning first 6 rounds in the tournament and in the final round he was held to draw by Subhajit Dhar but could not stop him from becoming champion. Nilabh Jyoti Barthakur scored 5.5 points from same number of rounds and got second position.

Subhajit Dhar, Mrinmoy Rajkhowa, Projit Phukan and Abhash Ramya Saikia also scored same number point but declared fourth, fifth and sixth on the basis of tie-break score. Soram Rahul Singh got seventh position with 5 points , Mahendra Borah, Bijit Chetia and Iftikar Alam Mazumdar got eighth, ninth and tenth position respectively by scoring 5 points each. The tournament was organized by Tinsukia Chess Academy and Fide Arbiter M Arun Singh conducted the tournament as Chief Arbiter and B P Lahan, Dipak Patgiri and Golap Gogoi assisted him as deputy arbiter.  A total of rupees one lakh is distributed as prize money and the champion was got richer by rupees fifteen thousand
