Under-20 Under-16 Under-10 and Under-8 age Group
All Assam Age Group Inter District Chess Championship-2022 for Under-20 Under-16 Under-10 and Under-8 age Group organized by All Assam Chess Association at Shemford Futuristic School, Nalapara, Guwahati concluded yesterday.
Candidate Master Mayank Chakraborty clinched the title in Under-20 (Boys) category by scoring 4 points. Tanveer Ahmed of Darrang scored 3 points and got second position. Shivam Dutta of Guwahati and Pusphas Sarma of Guwahati scored 2 points each and got third and fourth position respectively.
Dipnalisha Borah of Guwahati clinched the title in under-20 Girls category by scoring 3 points from 4 rounds. Prayashree Rajbongshi of Guwahati also scored 3 points from same number of rounds but declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Rishita Sinha of Guwahati and Pritilakshmi Kashyap of Sonitpur scored 2.5 points each and declared third and fourth respectively on the basis of tie-break score.
In under-16 (Boys) category Dhruv Phukan of Dibrugarh clinched the title by scoring 5 points. Tanmoy Rajbongshi of Guwahati and Bibek Rajkumar of Dibrugarh also scored 5 points each but declared second and third respectively according to their tie-break score. Prangobinda Parasha rkashyap got fourth position by scoring 4.5 points.
In under- 16 Girls category Chaarvy Choudhury of Guwahatigot first position by scoring 4.5 points. Aslesha Talukdar of Guwahati and Nandika Sahu of Dibrugarh also scored 4.5 points but they were declared second and third respectively according to their tie-break score. Khyati Kashyap of Guwahati got fourth position in this category by scoring 4 points.
In under-10 category Rajat Bafna of Guwahati scored 5 points and clinched the title. Harshadeep Deka of Guwahati scored 4.5 points and got second position. Krishnav Mrinmoy Hazarika of Guwahati and Bodhisatwa Bhowmick of Jorhat also scored 4.5 points each but got third and fourth position on the basis of tie-break score.
In under-10 Girl’s category Yati Agarwal of Guwahati got first position by scoring 4 points. Ritisha Myra Rajbongshi of Guwahati got second position by scoring 3 points. Sristirupa Roy of Guwahati and Tanishka Sarma of Cachar also scored 3 points each but got third and fourth position respectively according to tie-break score.
In Under-8 category (Boys) Aarohan of Guwahati got first position by scoring 4 points. Aayush Sharma of Sonitpur got second position. He also scored 4 points. Monodeep Dhar and Bhavyansh Sharma both from Cachar also scored 4 points each but declared third and fourth according to their tie-break score.
In Under-8 Girls category Suzein Ahmed of Darrang got first position by scoring 3.5 points. Ameya Gupta also from Guwahati scored 3.5 points but got second position on the basis of tie-break score. Nishtha Saikia and Abri Nalya Borah got third and fourth position respectively by scoring 2.5 points each.
Altogether 134 players from all over Assam participated in the tournament. Position holders from this tournament will be selected to represent Assam in forthcoming National Championship. Fide Arbiter M Arun Singh Conducted the tournament as Chief Arbiter. Mr Rajib Dhar, Secretary, All Assam Chess Association. Pranab Kumar Nath, Secretary Guwahati Chess Association gave away the prizes in the prize distribution ceremony.
