ANUBRAT CLICNHED THE TITLE
Anubrat Barthakur Clinched the title in “Guwahati Chess Academy Online Chess Tournament” organized by Guwahati Chess Academy on 10th October, 2021. Anubrat scored 5.5 points from 6 rounds and remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Pran Gobinda Parashar Kashyap 5 points from the same number of rounds and got second position. Nihad Islam Hazarika, Chaarvi Choudhury and Himanish Kumar Sarma scored 4.5 points each from same number of rounds and declared third, fourth and fifth respectively on the basis of their tie-break score.
Hridika Das claimed the best girl title by scoring 4 points. Bharsita Saharia also scored 4 points but she was declared third on the basis of her tie-break score. Nibhriti Goswami got third position by scoring 3 points.
Tiberia D scored 4 points and got first position in the Under-15 category. Chranjib Goswami got second position by scoring 3 points in the under-15 category.
In the under-13 category both Nalinakhya Kashyap and Ariz Zaman scored 4 points each but Nalinakhya Kashyap was declared first on the basis of tie-break score. Ariz zaman got second and Rayhaan Hussain got third position by scoring 3 points.
In the under-11 category, Sahaj Gupta got first position by scoring 4.5 points. Shuvang Pran Kashyap and Abhirup Saikia both scored 3 points and declared third and fourth on the basis of tie-break score.
In Under-9 category Ritisha Mayra Rajbongshi scored 3 points and got first position. Rajat Bafna also scored 3 points but he was declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Swapnil Kar scored 2 points and got third position.
In Under-7 category Ameya Gupta got first position by scoring 3 points. Dhanyata Goswami 2 points and got second position. Dhirhaan Goswami also scored 2 points in this category but declared third on the basis of tie-break score.
Altogether 32 players including 9 rated players participated in the tournament. Fide Instructor Pranab Kumar Nath conducted the tournament as Chief Arbiter and he was ably assisted by Fide Arbiter Monimala Sinha as deputy Arbiter. The tournament was held in online in tornelo.com platform and under video supervision through Zoom.
